With the Oracle Verrazzano Company Container Platform, Oracle is supplying a way to deploy and take care of container-dependent applications in Kubernetes in multicloud and hybrid cloud environments.

Introduced August 3, Verrazzano serves as a bridge involving on-prem and cloud environments, Oracle reported. It will allow end users to unify application lifecycle management throughout microservices and conventional applications deployed on Oracle’s WebLogic Server Java application server, as well as to standardize the management of Kubernetes throughout on-prem and cloud environments.

Oracle cites other advantages of Verrazzano which includes:

  • Improving developer productivity, by containers and container management systems, devops, and cloud-native development. Deployment instances can be lessened and application uptime greater.
  • Modernizing existing applications.
  • Cloud-native advantages without the need of lock-in. Oracle states Verrazzano delivers a “cloud-neutral” approach for container applications, irrespective of irrespective of whether they are deployed on premises, in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or in other community clouds.
  • Intelligent workload management throughout clusters, with computerized provisioning of Kubernetes operators, development of Kubernetes objects, application modeling for innovative deployment scenarios, and extended capabilities for WebLogic, Coherence, and Helidon workloads.
  • Automatic, built-in observability for technique and application parts, which includes metrics and log collection from managed workloads and pre-configured dashboards.
  • Software lifecycle management, with cross-cluster updates with devops and Gitops enablement to lessen overhead and improve uptime.
  • Polyglot workload enablement, with application dealing with for Java and non-Java applications.
  • Multi-system safety, with protection for network website traffic, technique parts, and application parts.

Verrazzano leverages the Open up Software Product specification for making system-agnostic container applications. To get began with Verrazzano, developers can install the Verrazzano system operator in their Kubernetes cluster and then apply an application profile, which is handed as a Kubernetes custom source to the operator.
